A local arborist dropped these big pine logs in our yard yesterday, bringing us to 75 logs this season saved from the landfill, chipper, or firepit. That is approximately 150,000 lbs of potential waste that has been converted into 7,500 board feet of high quality lumber. This local lumber is being dried in our solar kiln or outside, and will be sold at a fraction of big box prices, or find it’s way into our finished wood products and furniture. The waste cuts are donated to the community for heat or other uses, and even the sawdust has been upcycled.
Thank you to our friends, suppliers, and customers who have helped launch #sustainability in action!
